  • The Castle Jilemnice

The Castle Jilemnice was built in the 16th Century in the Renaissance style by Křinecký from Ronov. In 1701 the castle was bought by the family of Harrach and expanded in the years 1714 and 1895, which gave the castle its present form. During World War II, their property was confiscated and after the war the building and the land was handed over to the Czechoslovakian state. Since 1954 a museum is located in the palace. The museum was founded thanks to the director of a girls' school, Jáchym Metelkow and the teacher John Bucharow from the Collection of the Czechoslovakian ethnographic exhibition of 1891. The special features of the exhibition includes a crib from 1883 and the finest linen in the world.
