Miniature in the park
  • Śnieżka hilltop pre-1968

Pilgrims were the first to conquer Śnieżka as early as the 15th century. Two hundred years later the von Schaffgotsch family, that lived at the base of the mountain range, erected a chapel at the hill top in the name of St. Lawrence, which is located 1,602 metres above sea level. In the 19th century, with the growth of tourist traffic, a hostel was built on the mountain and survived here until 1968. Also around this time the first meteorological measurements were taken at the old weather station.

This miniature was built by one artist in one month.
